    ideally you want lower rpm and higher feed. 304 work hardens if you let the cutter rub or take too light of a cut. i assume your using carbide insert tooling, if thats so than the minimum depth of cut is the tool nose radius. do not let the tool rub as it will definitely make the stainless unmachineable.
